Uorfi Javed, who continues to make headlines for her show The Traitors, gave fans a glimpse of the outfit she had planned to wear at Cannes before things took a different turn.

The actress posted a video revealing that she had created the outfit specifically for the prestigious film festival, but her visa was denied. She described it as an LED outfit made with several strips and shared that it took over three months to complete due to the intricate wiring and programming involved.

Adding a fun twist, she later customised the dress with The Traitors logo and several cartoon visuals, calling it a "mini television." Sharing the video, Uorfi wrote, “It’s like a TV dress. What do you guys think?”

Fans quickly flooded the comments section with praise. One wrote, “Uorfi, the MET Gala deserves you.” Another added, “It’s really amazing. You are so talented—hats off to you!” A third commented, “Amazing… you always blow our minds.”

Explaining why she couldn’t make it to Cannes this year, Uorfi had shared a post on Instagram about her visa being rejected.

She wrote, “I haven’t been uploading anything or been seen anywhere because I was going through a phase. My business didn’t work out. I tried a bunch of different things, only to face rejections.” She continued, “I got an opportunity to go to Cannes through Indie Wild (big thank you to Diipa Khosla and Kshitij Kankaria), but as fate would have it, my visa got rejected.”

Uorfi also addressed the misconception that walking the Cannes red carpet is based on merit.

She clarified, “Going to Cannes is an opportunity that isn’t based on merit. Brands buy tickets to the red carpet and give them to influencers or celebrities to represent them. Individuals can also buy tickets. Walking the Cannes red carpet is not an achievement—not even for me. It’s simply an opportunity to promote yourself. That’s the truth. There, I said it.”

She added, “Unless your film is being premiered at the festival—yes, then it’s an achievement…otherwise, anyone can do it, as long as you have the money or brand sponsorship.”
