Content creator slams Meghan Markle’s $64 candle for having no wick; User jokes, “There’s no light in her life”

Meghan Markle’s Netflix show With Love has been a turning point, as it offered a peek into how the Duchess of Sussex embraces a forward lifestyle with everything fresh, fragrant, and beautiful. Her latest brand, As Ever, is no different, featuring products that are clean and classy. However, popular TikTok creator Link Lauren wasn’t impressed with her scented candle.

Lauren took to his social media account, X, and shared a picture and video of the candle, which had no wick, and no other way to light it either.

“You guys, this is not a joke. I am testing Meghan Markle’s new candle on my show. There’s literally no wick. I just got Markled. There’s nothing to light here. I think Meghan Markle saw my name and maybe took it out. Quality control really needed to check the quality because it is out of control,” he said in the video.

His note with the post read, “I got Markled! I unboxed Meghan Markle's new $65 candle on my show today. There is no wick! Kind of a metaphor for her career. Nothing is lighting.”

X users were as amused as Lauren. One replied, “It’s so Meghan, wick sold separately.” Another joked, “Maybe she was sending you a signal. There’s no light in her life.” A third said, “Maybe you have to dig for it. Isn't that her motto ‘keep digging’ to reach results?”

Many also commented on how expensive the candles were. “Dang, you got #Markled out of $65! Next up, raspberry jam without the raspberry lol,” wrote one. Another user replied, “You ACTUALLY spent money on that garbage,” while another pointed out, “$65 worth of poured wax. Nice touch.”

Meghan launched her lifestyle brand earlier this year, selling artisanal food items, a curated collection of wines, and scented candles. Her signature candle No. 084, the one that Lauren unboxed in the video, is special because it represents her birthday, August 4.

The candle features notes of fresh water lotus, earthy sandalwood, and California poppy. It comes in a luxurious ceramic vessel, and its fragrance is a reminder of sweet wood, delicate florals, and California wildflowers. It’s warm and cosy, offering the perfect holiday feel.
