The sudden passing of singer Zubeen Garg has shocked the nation. On Sunday, his body reached his home in Kahilipara, Guwahati, where his family and close friends gathered to offer their final private respects.

The untimely death of singer Zubeen Garg has left the entire nation in shock. On Sunday, his mortal remains arrived at his residence in Kahilipara, Guwahati, where family and friends paid their final private tributes to the beloved singer.

His body had reached Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport early in the morning.

Thousands of mourners lined the streets to catch a last glimpse of the music legend. After the private ceremonies at his home, Zubeen Garg’s remains are scheduled to be taken to Bhogeswar Baruah Stadium, allowing fans to pay their respects.

According to a PTI report, his body was kept at the Kahilipara residence for about an hour and a half, allowing his family, including his 85-year-old ailing father, to offer their final farewells.

In an emotional moment captured on video by ANI, Zubeen’s wife, film producer Garima Saikia Garg, was seen paying a tearful tribute to her husband at their home.

The singer’s body was transported in a procession stretching 25 km from the airport to his residence, which took nearly five and a half hours due to the massive crowd of mourners who showered flowers on the ambulance carrying his coffin.

People of all ages, including the elderly, women, children, young adults, and differently-abled individuals, braved the scorching heat to be part of the procession.

The route passed through Gauhati University campus in Jalukbari and continued along National Highway 27, also known as the Guwahati Bypass, before reaching his home.

Zubeen Garg tragically passed away in Singapore on Friday while scuba diving. He was 52 years old. His death has left a deep void in the world of music and among his countless fans.
