Oscar winning Nicolas Cage is officially set to return as Spider-man Noir in a new upcoming live-action Marvel TV show. The series titled, “Noir”, will debut on MGM+’s linear channel, while international fans can catch it on Amazon prime video.
Cage will be donning the black coat once again after voicing the character in the Oscar winning animated feature, "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" (2018). This will be the first time the 'Spider-Man' will be played in a live-action project.
The Nicolas Cage headlined Marvel series will tell the story “of an aging and down on his luck private investigator (Cage) in 1930s New York, who is forced to grapple with his past life as the city’s one and only superhero,” as per the official logline.

Though the series being in development was exclusively reported by Variety in 2023, the involvement of Nicolas Cage was not identified. The series will be helmed by Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot, who will also be serving as co-showrunners and executive producers. ‘Noir’ was developed together with Uriel and Lightfoot along with “Into The Spider-verse” team, Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Amy Pascal, also being executively produced by them.
The announcement came into the limelight ahead of Amazon’s upfront presentation to advertisers today. “Expanding the Marvel universe with Noir is a uniquely special opportunity and we are honored to bring this series to our global Prime Video customers. The extremely talented Nicolas Cage is an ideal choice for our new superhero and the accomplished producing team with Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, Amy Pascal, and the incredible team at Sony is dedicated to expanding this franchise in the most authentic way,” announced Vernon Sanders, Head of Television for Amazon MGM studios.
This will be Cage’s first regular TV performance. The ‘Ghost Rider’ star was last seen in “Dream Scenario” and “Renfield” both released in 2023.
