The actor recalled, “When Aryan told me he was going to make a show on Bollywood, that it would be raw, edgy, and would have some madness to it. I thought, 'Is he going to share the CCTV footage of Mannat on YouTube?’”
Shah Rukh Khan added, “If I'm being honest, it took me a while to really catch on and catch the tone of the show. Once I did, I was completely drawn in, and honestly, I'm really, really happy about it.”
Produced by Gauri Khan under Red Chillies Entertainment, The Ba***ds of Bollywood is written and directed by Aryan Khan in collaboration with co-creators and writers Bilal Siddiqi and Manav Chauhan.
Lakshya portrays the role of Aasmaan Singh, an aspiring actor who came to Mumbai with big dreams. The Netflix series also stars Sahher Bambba, Mona Singh, Raghav Juyal, Bobby Deol, Anya Singh, Manish Chaudhari, Vijayant Kohli, Gautami Kapoor, Manoj Pahwa and Rajat Bedi.
According to Moneycontrol, an excerpt of The Bads of Bollywood review reads, “At its core, ‘The Bads of Bollywood’ is a satire dressed as a spoof, throwing playful punches at everything Bollywood stands for. The caricatured characters, industry in-jokes, and irreverent tone reveal Aryan Khan’s unapologetic commercial sensibilities.”
The Bads of Bollywood is available to stream on Netflix after its release on September 18.
