Ahead of its March 27, 2026, theatrical debut, Ram Charan's upcoming rural sports drama Peddi, which is co-starring Janhvi Kapoor and directed by Uppena fame Buchi Babu Sana, is already creating a lot of buzz. It is one of the most anticipated movies in Indian cinema for the upcoming year because of its rustic, cricket-focused plot and Charan's star power.

As per reports online, Peddi has reportedly signed a huge OTT deal with Netflix for Rs 105 crore + GST, which covers post-theatrical streaming rights in all languages, significantly enhancing the movie's commercial prospects. Expectations for the project are further raised by the fact that this is the largest digital acquisition for a solo Ram Charan film to date.

Non-Theatrical Revenue Is Already Exploding

Peddi is already on track to recoup its production costs from non-theatrical revenue alone, with an estimated Rs 75 crore expected to be earned from satellite, music, and ancillary rights. According to insiders, a pre-established revenue-sharing model will divide the theatrical distribution profits between Ram Charan and the producers.

Ram Charan's Make-or-Break Moment

Ram Charan wants to return to box office consistency after delivering a historic hit with RRR and experiencing delays with Game Changer. If Peddi is successful, he could further establish himself as a reliable pan-Indian star who can produce hits in many languages.

Charan's cinematic career has been distinguished by both ambitious pan-Indian endeavours like Zanjeer and huge hits like Magadheera and Rangasthalam. RRR gave him the much-needed boost in his national reputation, even though the latter didn't go as planned.

Highlights of the Production and Star Cast

Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, and Divyenndu Sharma are among the remarkable cast members of Peddi, in addition to Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor. With music by A.R. Rahman, the movie is being co-financed by Vriddhi Cinemas and Mythri Movie Makers.
