South actor and director Prithviraj Sukumaran was recently honoured with the Best Actor Award during the 54th Kerala State Film Awards. He bagged the prestigious award for his powerful role as Najeeb in Aadujeevitham: The Goat Life.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan presented the award to Prithviraj during the grand celebration of Malayalam cinema and its finest talents.
The latest achievement marked a significant milestone in Prithviraj’s personal and professional life. Prithviraj’s father, the legendary Sukumaran, was the first to be honoured with the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor from the Sukumaran family.
Mohanlal is another actor who has held the title till now. Prithviraj previously won the award in 2006 at age 24 for his powerful performance in Vaasthavam, breaking Mohanlal's long-standing record.
However, the actor now continues to set new benchmarks with the same passion and intensity that defined his early success, even after two decades.
Meanwhile, the award ceremony was initially announced on August 16, 2024, to celebrate the cinematic achievements of 2023. However, after multiple delays, the ceremony was finally held on Thursday.

Prithviraj starrer Aadujeevitham was a massive success, and his stirring performance was nothing short of transformative. The film also stars Amala Paul, Talib Al Balushi, Rik Aby and Jimmy Jean-Louis in the key roles.
Prithviraj starred as Najeeb in the film and brought the tale of survival and resilience to life. His performance moved the audience, with the film achieving global success.
