Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently met with the Kapoor family ahead of Raj Kapoor’s centenary celebrations. During the meeting, Modi expressed excitement about meeting Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan’s children, Taimur and Jeh.

Saif also shared with the PM that he was meeting his first-ever prime minister. "You are the first Prime Minister that I have met… Your energy is so good and you work so hard. I want to congratulate you in whatever you do. Thank you for opening your doors and for being accessible to us," he said.

PM Modi then shared with Saif Ali Khan that he had previously met Saif’s father, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, and expressed his eagerness to now meet the next generation of the family. "I have met your father and I thought today I will get to meet the third generation as well. But you didn’t bring them (par aap laye nahi)," the quipped.

Although her sons, Taimur and Jeh Ali Khan, couldn't attend the celebration, Kareena Kapoor Khan made sure they were part of the occasion by bringing back meaningful gifts for them. True to her role as a devoted mother, Kareena created special memories for her children. She took to her Instagram stories to share a photo of a note signed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself, with the message reading, "Tim & Jeh."

After the meeting with the PM, Saif said it was a warm feeling to interact with the "head of your nation". "He said something good about Raj Kapoor and his soft power globally and how proud people are in Eastern Europe and Russia and Central Europe. He suggested that we should make a documentary on that to keep his memory alive," Saif added.

Kareena Kapoor Khan said it was her dream to interact with the Prime Minister. "I’m so happy that on the occasion of my grandfather’s 100th birthday, we got that chance. He has so much positive energy and he is truly a global leader," she added.

The Kapoor family, including Ranbir Kapoor, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, and Neetu Kapoor, invited Modi to the Raj Kapoor Film Festival, scheduled to celebrate the legendary actor, director, and producer’s 100th birth anniversary on December 14, 2024.
