Varun Dhawan recently disclosed that he has a cameo in the new horror comedy film ‘Munjya.’ Dhawan is part of the horror comedy cinematic universe helmed by Maddock Films. The universe includes ‘Stree (2018),’ ‘Bhediya (2022)’ and now ‘Munjya (2024).’ Dhawan played the protagonist in ‘Bhediya.’
On Sunday, Varun Dhawan congratulated the team behind ‘Munjya’ on his social media account and also posted a snippet of the reaction of the audience upon seeing him show up in the post credit scene.
He also posted a snippet of the post credit scene. In the scene, Dhawan’s character from ‘Bhediya’ Bhaskar, is hiding behind a big rock and covering himself with a bunch of leaves. He sees Abhishek Banerjee's Janardan from ‘Stree’ and asks him to help him. Janardan throws some clothes toward Bhaskar. Bhaskar then puts on some old underwear and the scene comes to an end with a BOO! jumpscare from ‘Munjya.’
The audience’s surprise when Dhawan popped up on the screen was evident with many giggling and smiling at the actor’s entry. After the clip ended, the audience captured cheering from inside the theatre.
Varun captioned the post by saying, “Congratulation to team MUNJYA for the massive success.BHEDIYA milna chaiye ga aap se (Bhediya wants to meet you) don’t miss the post credit. @verma.abhay_ @sharvari @aditya_a_sarpotdar @amarkaushik was so much fun to be back on your set again with this master storyteller. #dino @maddockfilms we just getting started. @nowitsabhi will see u soon brother.”
Sharvari Wagh responded to his post and wrote, "VD!!!! Thank aaaaooooo for adding chaar chand to our Munjya madness. you are the best!!!!”
Abhay Verma also commented, “Bhaskii is Best dessert for a super maincourse film treat!!!”
‘Munjya’ director Aditya Sarpotdar commented, “Bhai. The theatre erupts at this point in the film. Bhediya has always been a rage and audience reactions reaffirm the same.”
