UI The Movie, the 2024 Indian Kannada-language dystopian science fiction action film written and directed by Upendra, has hit theaters on December 20. Despite stiff competition from other big releases, the film is receiving positive feedback from audiences. Let's take a look at what netizens are saying about this sci-fi thriller directed by Upendra on Twitter.

A user on X shared their thoughts on the film, highlighting its deep nuances and how it encourages viewers to reflect more critically on their own personalities and how they confront the truth. The review read, "When you're uncomfortable and deeply affected by the situations around you, the struggle between the YIN and YANG of your personality, the polished white soul and the abolished dark soul intensifies to no end. #UITheMovie is about that internal subconscious conflict which struggles to handle the TRUTH..."

While another user felt that the first half of UiTheMovie offered a strong performance by Upendra and impressive visuals, though it has some predictable elements and flat scenes. "#UiTheMovie's first half has been decent so far, with pure rage and a standout one-man performance from #Upendra. However, there are a few flat scenes and a partially predictable screenplay flow, which are the drawbacks. The movie introduces a new plot and is technically brilliant, with excellent visuals and background music. The opening 10 minutes and the interval block had some exciting moments that kept the audience engaged."

Although the film was much appreciated for its out of the box thinking and VFX visuals, a netizen wrote on X that the film's direction was seen as a mismatch for the content, with a commercial approach being considered more fitting than the fictional one used. The review read, "UPENDRA wins in his thought execution but this is not what we expected from his direction!!! For this content, a proper commercial take would have been worked rather than the fictional approach!!!"

One of the users who watched the film further mentioned that the film's beginning gave a typical feel of Upendra’s style with impactful moments, while the second half required more focus, especially during the fight scenes. "Interval - The first half is typical Uppi movie, with twists and hidden meanings to decode. Kalki’s scenes were impactful. The second half needs more focus to meet expectations. The fight scenes felt a bit slow," the post continued.
