A few days ago, Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi's looks as Lord Ram and Sita Maa from the upcoming movie 'Ramayan' went viral. Everyone couldn't help but notice the beautiful maroon colour-coordinated outfits of both actors for their onscreen roles.
Now reports are that designer duo Rimple and Harpreet have designed the clothes for Ranbir and Sai in their upcoming movie.
Rimple and Harpreet have made all the grand costumes for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus 'Heeramandi:The Diamond Bazaar,' which is all set to stream on Netflix from May 1.
Rimple and Harpreet have confirmed to news agency IANS that they will be designing the costumes for the movie, which is being directed by Nitesh Tiwari.
“We are absolutely elated and honoured to be entrusted with the monumental task of designing costumes for Ramayana," Harpreet told IANS.
Rimple added, “Ramayana holds unparalleled significance in our country’s cultural heritage."
Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi have already started shooting for the movie. Though there were strict rules about not carrying any mobile phones on the sets of 'Ramayan', a few pictures of the actors shooting in the Ram and Sita avatars were leaked online.
In the leaked photos, Ranbir could be seen sporting long hair and dressed like Prince of Ayodhya Shri Ram—maroon dhoti, stole, and jewellery. Sai was also seen in maroon attire with simple bindis and jewellery.
The movie also stars KGF star Yash as Ravana, and there are reports that Sunny Deol will be seen in the role of Hanuman. Arun Govil and Lara Dutta, who will play the roles of Raja Dashrath and Rani Kaikeyi, were also leaked a month ago.
'Ramayan's' shoot is in the initial stages only, but there are reports that it will target Diwali 2025 for its big release. Diwali is the day when Lord Ram and Sita returned from their vanvas to Ayodhya.
