Walt Disney Animation Studios is gearing up to revisit the magical island of Motunui with the much-anticipated Moana 2. The latest trailer offers a thrilling glimpse into Moana and Maui’s new journey, filled with peril and wonder.

After her three-day voyage home, Moana stumbles upon a mysterious artifact that holds the secret to a forgotten island and its vengeful gods. This discovery sparks a dangerous mission to lift an ancient curse, with Moana and the ever-faithful Maui reuniting to face a formidable new threat in a race to save her people.

In the newly released trailer for Moana 2, audiences are introduced to Matangi, voiced by Awhimai Fraser, a mysterious character who may threaten Moana and Maui's mission. With the future of Motunui at stake, Moana embarks on a daring journey, facing treacherous waters and formidable challenges to protect her homeland.

As she grows into a confident leader, her responsibilities deepen, particularly in her bond with her younger sister, Simea, adding a touching layer to the story. The evolving dynamics between Moana and her parents, Chief Tui and Chieftess Sina, also come to the forefront as the family bands together to confront the looming dangers.

With breathtaking animation and beloved characters, the sequel brings Moana (voiced by Auli‘i Cravalho) and Maui (voiced by Dwayne Johnson) back together for an epic journey, three years after their original adventure. Directed by David Derrick Jr., Jason Hand, and Dana Ledoux Miller, and produced by Christina Chen and Yvett Merino, the film features music by Grammy winners Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear, Grammy nominee Opetaia Foa‘i, and three-time Grammy winner Mark Mancina.
