Madhur Bhandarkar says haven't cast Fatima Sana Shaikh in 'The Wives': 'She never signed the film'

Director Madhur Bhandarkar's upcoming film, The Wives, has generated as much excitement as the actual filming. The latest rumours suggested that Fatima Sana Shaikh will star in the lead role in the upcoming film.

In a recent interview with Hindustan Times, director Madhur Bhandarkar has debunked the rumours, calling them ‘untrue.’ He has also clarified that Fatima was never involved in the project.

He said, “The reports around her casting were all untrue. She never signed the film or was roped in to play one of the wives.”

In addition to Arjan Bajwa, Regina Cassandra, Sonali Kulkarni, and Mouni Roy play important roles in The Wives. The movie delves once more into the glamorous and intricate realm of entertainment, which he has already examined in Page 3, Heroine, and Calendar Girls.

The upcoming film is produced by Bhandarkar Entertainment and P.J. Motion Pictures. The Wives marks Bhandarkar’s second collaboration with producer Pranav Jain of P J Motion Pictures, following India Lockdown.

The Wives is currently heading to post-production, and fans can expect the official release date announcement in the coming months. The makers have already sparked curiosity among the fans with the release of the first look poster of the film.
