John Krasinski, named 'Sexiest Man Alive' for 2024, says the honor feels like "a prank"

The wait for People magazine's 2024 Sexiest Man Alive title is finally over, and actor John Krasinski has been crowned with the honor. The announcement came on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, where Krasinski, known for his roles in 'The Office', 'A Quiet Place', 'A Quiet Place Part II', and 'Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan', admitted he was unsure how to react to the recognition. During the show, Colbert, who initially feigned disappointment about not being named the winner, ultimately surprised everyone by bringing Krasinski on stage to reveal the exciting news.

"Stephen, it’s OK. All right, you're not the Sexiest Man Alive, but who cares? Who else matters, except for me, apparently?" Krasinski joked with the host, who openly admitted his jealousy. Krasinski also shared a humorous "six-step process" that he claimed is necessary to earn the coveted title of Sexiest Man Alive.

In People magazine's cover story, John Krasinski shared his initial reaction to being named Sexiest Man Alive, admitting that he experienced an instant "blackout." "Zero thoughts. The only thing that crossed my mind was maybe I’m being punked," he said. "I don’t wake up thinking, ‘Is today the day I’m named Sexiest Man Alive?’ And yet, it was the day you guys did it. You've really set a high bar for me," he added with a laugh. His wife, actress Emily Blunt, was "very excited" upon hearing the news and even joked about making the magazine cover wallpaper in their home. Reflecting on his family’s response, Krasinski echoed similar sentiments to those he shared with Stephen Colbert.

"I found out just five minutes ago. Honestly, I still think this is a prank," Krasinski admitted. "There was so much laughter on the other end of the phone when I called home," he added, recalling the playful reaction from his family.
