Hollywood actor Jonathan Bailey, known for his performance in Netflix’s Bridgerton, has announced a break from acting. The actor has made the decision to focus on his Shameless Fund.
In a recent interview with British GQ, Jonathan shared, “I've been working solidly for about three years now, which has been amazing and mind-blowing but with everything happening in the world right now, I'm going to stop acting for a bit next year and just focus on the Shameless Fund.”
The actor further noted, “Over the next few months, I'll be focusing on staffing and making sure we get all the right people in all the right places.”
He added, “There's this statistic: out of every £100 raised in the U.K., only 1 [penny] goes to the LGBTQ+ community. You really have to dig to find solutions, and I genuinely think The Shameless Fund is exactly that.”
For the unversed, Jonathan founded the charity in the United Kingdom, which partners with international brands to raise money for non-profits that support the LGBTQ+ community. This is how the actor's viral "slutty little glasses", a collaboration with the eyewear company Cubitts, was introduced.
Jonathan not only sees the fund and its partnerships as a way to “make a real difference,” but also sees it as “fun and creative.” However, some of his celebrity friends like Jonathan’s Wicked costar Cynthia Erivo and Scarlett Johansson have also promoted his recent collab with Cubitts on social media.
