F1 The Movie, a compelling sports drama that follows the fictional redemption arc of veteran racer Sonny Hayes, marks Brad Pitt's high-octane comeback to the big screen.

The film, which was produced by Hollywood heavyweight Jerry Bruckheimer and directed by Top Gun: Maverick Joseph Kosinski, has already attracted thousands of moviegoers and motorsport enthusiasts.

One pressing question has surfaced as audiences swarm theatres: is there a post-credits scene in the movie?

The solution? Not exactly. Although there isn't a conventional post-credits stinger, fans are treated to an engaging mid-credits scene that has generated new conjecture.

Sonny Hayes is shown in the scene arriving in the rocky, sun-drenched landscape of Baja, California, which is well-known for its extreme off-road racing competitions, such as the Baja 1000. Hayes approaches a local racing crew, drenched in dust and resolute, and asks coolly, "Are you still looking for a driver?"

Hans Zimmer's thrilling score then erupts in the background as the movie cuts to an exhilarating montage of Hayes driving through the desert. The character's unquenchable desire for challenge and speed is aptly captured in this visually striking moment.

This specific location also honours a previous scene in the movie where Hayes had briefly contemplated switching to the Baja racing scene prior to agreeing to Ruben's offer to rejoin Formula One. It discreetly highlights Hayes's ongoing love for all types of racing and acts as a nice thematic callback.

Although the scene paves the way for more narrative development, it falls short of guaranteeing a sequel. Given the original film's substantial $141 million budget and its close ties to the international Formula One spectacle, an off-road racing spinoff is possible but possibly unlikely.

More likely options for a follow-up would be for Hayes to mentor his F1 teammate, who is portrayed by Damson Idris, or to compete against a new, younger opponent on the international scene.

For the time being, fans can enjoy F1 The Movie as a tribute to the many facets of motorsport as well as a stand-alone thrill ride.
