F1 twitter review: Brad Pitt’s racing drama draws mixed reactions

Cinephiles and speed enthusiasts are in for a thrill as Brad Pitt returns to the big screen in full throttle. Known for his magnetic presence in action roles, Pitt now steps into the fast lane in F1, directed by Joseph Kosinski. The film, which officially hits Indian theatres on June 27, has already made waves following its North American release on June 25.

Social media is abuzz with early reactions, with many users on X (formerly Twitter) hailing the high-energy racing drama as a cinematic adrenaline rush.

However, not all reviews were glowing. While some viewers celebrated the film’s intense race sequences and Brad Pitt’s captivating performance, others criticised it for lacking emotional depth and authenticity, calling certain elements "unrealistic" and also called him "completely incompatible" for the film.

One user mentioned, "F1 movie was pretty good. Not great…kinda wish the other drivers were more “in it” but it wasn’t bad"

In F1, Pitt takes on the role of Sonny Hayes, a fictional Formula 1 driver making a comeback in the high-stakes world of racing. The story follows his turbulent yet inspiring quest for redemption and a final shot at greatness on the track.

While calling the film, "the best blockbuster," one user wrote, " I've seen #F1TheMovie and it might be the best blockbuster since Top Gun Maverick and that's not a coincidence with Joseph Kosinski directing but what he manages to achieve here is nothing short of an high octane fueled epic. Brad Pitt is his best role since Cliff Booth. Also has some of the best cinematography I've seen in a while. Just a pure rush. See it in IMAX. 10/10"

A user who didn't like Brad Pitt's performance, mentioned "Brad Pitt despite his charisma and leading ability was a completely incompatible choice to lead this movie."

Another user mentioned, "#MinusMovieReview: #F1TheMovie. Such a fun watch. The racing stuff is really cool (not even close to accurate but its a movie). The music is also fantastic. Charles Leclerc will be world champion one day"

While praising the film, one user mentioned, "The thrill ride of being in the F1 vehicle really carries the movie. The weak and predictable story is something you have seen before. The race scenes make something special to see in a theater"

As anticipation builds in India, F1 promises a fast-paced spectacle that blends cinematic flair with the heart-pounding spirit of professional racing. Whether you're a fan of motorsport or simply eager to watch Pitt behind the wheel, F1 seems geared up to deliver both action and emotion in top gear.
