Actress Meera Vasudevan has been making headlines after revealing that she has ended her third marriage to cinematographer Vipin Puthiyankam. In a candid Instagram update, she shared that as of August 2025, she is officially single.
Ever since Meera publicly announced her divorce, she has once again become the centre of attention, prompting many to revisit both her personal journey and her professional achievements.
Who is Meera Vasudevan?
Meera Vasudevan is a versatile actress who has worked across Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi cinema. She enjoys a significant fan base in Kerala, especially after her memorable Malayalam debut opposite Mohanlal in Blessy’s critically acclaimed film Thanmathra.
Born in Mumbai into a Tamil family, Meera is the elder daughter of Vasudevan and Hemalatha. She has a younger sister, Ashwini, who gained recognition as a child artist with her appearance in Jaanam Samjha Karo, the Salman Khan–starrer.
After completing her bachelor’s degree in Arts, with Psychology and English Literature, Meera stepped into the world of modelling. She soon found success, appearing in numerous ad films. It was the popular ICC Set Max campaign that proved to be her breakthrough and paved the way for her acting career.
Before becoming more well-known on television, Meera later starred in a number of Malayalam films, including Oruvan, Ekantham, Kaakki, and Pachamarathanalil. With more than 115,000 Instagram followers, she currently has a sizable social media following.
Prestigious accolades have acknowledged her talent, such as the Kerala State Television Award for Best Actress in 2007 and the Tamil Nadu State Film Award Special Prize in 2005. She is widely celebrated for her portrayal of Sumithra in the hit Malayalam serial Kudumbavilakku on Asianet. She currently appears on Zed Keralam as Sujatha in Madhuranombarakattu.
Her Married Life
Meera’s personal life has seen multiple chapters. Before marrying Vipin, she was married to actor John Kokken. The couple was together from 2012 to 2016 and share a son, Ariha John. Prior to John, Meera was married to Vishal Agarwal from 2005 to 2010.
Meera’s marriage to Vipin Puthiyankam—her third—ended just a year after the couple tied the knot. The two had met on the sets of Kudumbavilakku, where what began as a strictly professional collaboration gradually blossomed into a romantic relationship. They married in May last year in Coimbatore.
