Bollywood star Ayushmann Khurrana stepped up for environmental conservation by participating in a beach cleanup drive at Mumbai's Versova Beach, following Ganesh Visarjan.
The cleanup, organized by Mrs. Amruta Fadnavis and the Divyaj Foundation, aimed to address the significant impact of post-festival waste on marine life and the environment.
This initiative was part of the ‘Bache Bole Morya’ program under Divyaj Foundation's Sea Shore Shine campaign. Ayushmann’s involvement in the drive highlights his commitment to eco-friendly practices, following his family's tradition of using eco-friendly Ganpati idols for this year's celebrations.
The event underscores a larger movement towards maintaining cleaner beaches and promoting sustainability.
Ayushmann expressed his enthusiasm for the cause, stating, “It’s crucial to be mindful of our environment and actively work towards its preservation. Our celebrations should reflect a balance between joy and environmental responsibility. Seeing so many young people and children participating today is heartening. It’s a testament to the growing awareness about environmental protection among the younger generation. Let’s keep this momentum going for a greener future!”
The cleanup drive saw active participation from local volunteers, including families and students, who gathered to collect waste and promote awareness about the importance of keeping beaches clean.
