Actor Arshad Warsi, known for his memorable roles in films like Munna Bhai MBBS, Golmaal and Ishqiya, has been a known figure in the Hindi film industry for over three decades. As he prepares for his next project, Ahmed Khan's Welcome To The Jungle, Arshad Warsi recently opened up about the significant pay disparity among actors in Bollywood.
In an interview to a YouTube channel, Arshad Warsi did not hold back his views on the industry's pay parity. When asked if he had issues with the current pay structure, the Golmaal actor was open in his response. "I feel that what is being received is so much more than what should be received, that is the problem," he stated, highlighting a critical issue in Bollywood.
Arshad Warsi pointed out that the exorbitant salaries asked by some actors have created a stark division between different tiers of talent. "The pay scale has become so high that it has put a line between A and B," he remarked.
He expressed concern that while a select few stars rake in massive amounts of money, this trend badly affects other actors who are left to suffer the consequences. "There are some actors who are making a lot of money, and to compensate them others are suffering," he added.
Arshad Warsi's candid remarks shed light on the broader issue of economic inequality within the film industry, where a handful of stars benefit at the expense of their peers. His perspective echoes a growing sentiment among industry insiders who believe that pay equity is essential for a healthier, more balanced Bollywood.
