Actor Bala, 41, who recently married Kokila, 24, has vehemently denied the rumours circulating about his supposed fourth marriage. The couple tied the knot on October 23 at the Kaloor Pavakulam temple, a union that attracted significant media attention. Several reports quickly spread, suggesting that this was Bala's fourth marriage. However, in a candid interview with Manorama Online, the actor clarified that such claims are completely false.
Bala shared his perspective, explaining that he has only been married twice in his life. The first
marriage, he revealed, took place when he was 21 years old to a woman named Chandana. He described their relationship as one born from youthful immaturity and passion.
"Chandana was my school love. We went to a temple for a ceremony, but it wasn't a real marriage," Bala explained. "We didn't want her to marry someone else, and in our immaturity, we made that decision." However, their families intervened, leading to their separation. Despite the end of their romantic relationship, Bala maintains a positive bond with Chandana. "I still maintain a friendship with Chandana, and she is now happily living with her husband in America," he added.
Addressing the ongoing rumours that his recent marriage to Kokila was his fourth, Bala expressed his disbelief and frustration. "Do people really believe I was married four times? It's absurd," he stated. He was adamant that Kokila was his second wife, emphasizing the legal aspect of their union. "Legally, Kokila is my second wife. Chandana and Kokila have spoken to each other, and I was only 21 when I married. I even spoke to my ex-wife about it, and that marriage was eventually cancelled," he explained. This clarification was important to him, as it seemed that the public had misunderstood the nature of his past relationships.
The rumors also mentioned an alleged marriage to Elizabeth Udayan, who was speculated to be Bala's third wife. However, the actor was quick to dismiss this claim as well. "I never had a legal marriage with Elizabeth, and I don't want to get into any details about her. I hope she's doing well in life," Bala said. He acknowledged the role Elizabeth played in his life during a challenging period. "When I was in the hospital, she was the one who helped me, and I am grateful for that. She is truly a wonderful person, and I wish her all the best," he added.
Interestingly, the interview did not touch upon Bala's relationship with singer Amrutha Suresh, with whom he shares a 12-year-old daughter, Avantika. Last month, the actor was arrested following a complaint filed by Amrutha, alleging that he had outraged her modesty. The charges were brought under Sections 74 and 79 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and he was also booked under the Juvenile Justice Act after Avantika posted an emotional video detailing the abuse she and her mother had suffered. Despite these allegations, Bala was granted conditional bail shortly after his arrest.
