Sony has expanded its TV lineup with the launch of its most-premium smart TV – Bravia 9 series – in India. The flagship TV from Sony comes with Mini LED technology with XR Backlight Master Drive, advanced AI Processor XR and PlayStation 5 support.
The company says that the Bravia 9 series is designed to enhance the home entertainment experience with advanced display technologies, including High Peak Luminance. These features are aimed at providing improved brightness, contrast, and colour accuracy.

The Bravia 9 series is available in two screen sizes: 189 cm (75 inches) and 215 cm (85 inches). The 75-inch model is priced at Rs 4,49,990 and the 85-inch model costs Rs 5,99,990.

The Bravia 9 series will be available for purchase starting today. Sony has made the series available across all major retail outlets, including Sony Centers, large electronic stores, and leading online platforms in India.

The Bravia 9 series is equipped with the XR Backlight Master Drive, a technology that uses a unique local dimming algorithm to precisely control thousands of Mini LEDs. The company claims that the feature helps deliver deep blacks and better shadow detail.
The TV also comes with High Peak Luminance feature that ensures bright scenes, such as sunlit landscapes, are reproduced with clarity and detail, even in well-lit rooms.
The series also includes XR Contrast Booster for improved contrast, XR Triluminos Pro for a wide range of accurate colors, and the AI Processor XR, which optimises picture and sound based on human perception.
Additionally, the Bravia 9 series comes with Studio Calibrated modes that claim to offer image quality that matches the intent of the content creators. The TV supports Bravia Cam and runs Google TV operating system. It comes with Google Play Services and supports all the OTT platforms.
Bravia 9 series comes with Dolby ATMOS and Vision support and includes anti-reflection and X-Wide Angle technologies to improve the viewing experience.
Sony has also added gaming features to the Bravia 9 to improve PS5 gaming experience. The TV comes with features like Auto HDR Tone Mapping for better colour accuracy and a dedicated Game Mode for minimal lag. The TV also supports 120FPS refresh rate and Variable Refresh Rate and Auto Low Latency Mode.
