Sony introduces limited edition Ghost of Yotei PS5 bundles inspired by Japanese art

Last night, Sony and developer Sucker Punch gave a closer look at Ghost of Yōtei’s gameplay, as part of a dedicated State of Play. Now, to celebrate the release of the game, Sony is introducing a new batch of exclusive PlayStation 5 console bundles. These bundles are said to offer homage to the traditional Japanese aesthetics.

Ghost of Yotei PS5 bundles: Key details

A new blog post from Sony Interactive Entertainment reveals the latest collaboration between the company and Sucker Punch Productions brings forth "Ghost of Yotei's" exclusive PS5 bundles. The bundles would bring a PS5 console and a DualSense controller featuring an artwork based on the game's designs. It offers fans a chance to get an exclusive and limited-edition console that features artwork of Mt. Yotei, the mountain in Japan's Hokkaido region where the game is based.

The bundle comes in two different editions. The Gold bundle features a gold detailing running across the PS5 faceplate inspired by kintsugi, "a traditional process to repair broken ceramics with lacquer and gold". This design mirrors the personal "journey of healing and resilience" of Ghost of Yōtei's lead character, Atsu. Meanwhile, the Ghost of Yōtei Black Li bundle draws its design inspiration from sumi-e, a black ink painting style.

Both bundles will include a PS5 Slim console disc drive, a matching DualSense controller with Atsu’s silhouette on the touchpad, and a digital copy of Ghost of Yōtei Standard Edition. The company is also selling the gold version as a faceplate for existing owners of a PlayStation 5 or a PlayStation 5 Pro. However, the company hasn't shared any pricing information, and only the pre-ordering details will come at a later date.
