X (formerly Twitter) experienced a brief outage on March 26, with users reporting issues across key features including feed loading, login access, and posting. According to Downdetector, complaints crossed 10,000 around 12 PM IST, indicating a sudden disruption.
However, we checked and it appears that the platform is back online and working properly at around 1:03 PM IST, with feeds loading normally and posting functionality returning to users. This suggest that the services are back and the issue has been resolved.
As of now, X has not issued an official statement explaining the cause of the outage. It remains unclear what triggered the disruption or whether it was linked to backend systems or infrastructure issues.
Outage details
Downdetector data showed a sharp spike in reports beginning shortly before 12 PM IST. The number of complaints quickly crossed the 10,000 mark, suggesting a widespread issue rather than isolated glitches.
Breakdown of reported issues indicates that a majority of users faced problems with the feed and timeline not loading. A significant number also reported login issues, while others flagged problems with posting content and accessing the website.
Users across both mobile apps and desktop platforms were affected, pointing to a broader system-level disruption.
What users faced during the outage
During the disruption, many users reported blank feeds where no posts were visible, including their own content. Others said they were unable to log into their accounts or interact with posts.
Posting and publishing tweets was also impacted, with some users encountering errors while trying to share content. In several cases, the platform showed intermittent behaviour, with features loading inconsistently.
