The foldable smartphone market is picking up pace. After Vivo launched the Vivo XFold3 Pro a couple of months ago, Samsung finally launched its next foldable smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 at the Galaxy Unpacked event on July 10. Both the foldables come with impressive features and are priced close to each other.
We find that out in our comparison of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 and Vivo X Fold3 Pro to see how the two devices stack up.
Design and Display
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 now comes with an aluminum armour and a Gorilla Glass Victus front and back. The phone now weighs 239 grams and is 5.6mm thin when unfolded, making it one of the lightest foldables on the market. It features a 7.6-inch foldable LTPO AMOLED display that supports a 120Hz refresh rate and has 2600 nits of peak brightness. Coming to the outer display, the Z Fold6 has a 6.3-inch LTPO AMOLED with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1600 nits of peak brightness.
The Vivo X Fold3 Pro is slightly thinner and lighter, as it weighs 236 grams and has 5.2mm thickness when unfolded. The phone has an 8.03-inch foldable LTPO AMOLED display, with a 120Hz refresh rate. Moreover, it features a 6.53-inch AMOLED display, which also supports 120Hz refresh rate. Both these displays in the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro have 4500 nits of peak brightness.
Performance
Both, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Vivo X Fold3 Pro, are powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. However, Vivo offers more RAM support on its flagship variant as we get up to 1TB storage and 16GB RAM on the X Fold 3Pro. However, we only get 12GB RAM on all the variants of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 with upto 1TB storage.
Camera
The X Fold3 Pro is equipped with a Zeiss triple camera setup, holding a 50MP main camera, a 64MP periscope telephoto sensor, and a 50MP ultrawide sensor. For selfies and video calls, it has two 32MP sensors, one on the inside foldable unit and one on the outer cover display.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 also has a triple-camera setup, consisting of a 50MP main camera, a 10MP telephoto, and a 12MP ultrawide lens. For selfies, its outer display has a 10MP lens and the inner display has a 4MP under-display sensor.
Battery
The Vivo X Fold3 Pro comes with a bigger 5000mAh battery that supports up to 100W fast charging, 50W wireless charging, and reverse-wireless charging as well. On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 is backed up by a 4400mAh battery with 25W wired charging, 15W wireless charging, and 4.5W reverse wireless charging support.
Price
The Vivo X Fold3 Pro has a starting price of Rs 1,59,999 and the Galaxy Z Fold6 starts at Rs 1,64,999.
