Samsung has officially launched its flagship foldable, the Galaxy Z Fold7, in India, with prices starting at Rs 1,74,999 for the base 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant. The 12GB + 512GB model is priced at Rs 1,86,999, while the top-end version with 16GB RAM and a whopping 1TB of storage costs Rs 2,10,999.
What you get for over Rs 2 lakh
The Fold7 continues Samsung’s foldable premium phone series, but it’s now lighter at 215g and slimmer at 8.9mm when folded, making it the most refined Z Fold yet. The outer screen has been slightly widened to 6.5 inches with a cinematic 21:9 aspect ratio, while the inner display stretches to a generous 8 inches.
Durability has received a significant upgrade too. The cover screen is now protected by Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, and Samsung has overhauled the hinge with Armour Aluminium and Ultra Thin Glass, promising better longevity and resistance to wear.
A fast processor
Under the hood, the Galaxy Z Fold7 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, with Samsung claiming a 41% boost in NPU performance and a 38% uplift in CPU power compared to its predecessor. This means faster multitasking, smarter AI features, and smoother performance across demanding apps.
Powerful cameras
Photography gets a major leap this year: the Fold7 is the first foldable to feature a 200MP main sensor, supported by AI enhancements for detail-rich shots. It’s joined by a 10MP 3x telephoto lens and a 12MP ultra-wide sensor. For selfies, there’s a 10MP camera on the cover screen and another 10MP shooter under the foldable display.
Video capabilities include 4K recording, Night Video with motion detection, and AI tools like Generative Edit and Suggest Erase—bringing some of the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s AI tricks to the foldable form.
