India’s star pacer Jasprit Bumrah produced a peach of a delivery to dismiss UAE batter Alishan Sharafu during the Asia Cup 2025 clash at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Wednesday. Earlier, captain Suryakumar Yadav finally ended India’s streak of 15 consecutive toss defeats, opting to field first after winning the toss.

UAE opener Sharafu gave his side a brisk start, taking on Hardik Pandya with back-to-back boundaries in the opening over. When Bumrah was introduced for the second over, he kept things tight until Sharafu managed to edge out a boundary off the final ball.

The fast bowler, however, had the last laugh in his following over. After delivering two dot balls to Muhammad Waseem, Bumrah saw the UAE skipper take a single, handing the strike back to Sharafu. That’s when Bumrah unleashed a searing yorker that crashed into the off-stump, leaving the batter no chance.

Bumrah wrapped up his spell with impressive figures of 1 for 19 from three overs, once again proving his reputation as one of the deadliest bowlers in world cricket.

Coming to UAE's poor batting display, head coach Lalchand Rajput admitted that his players struggled against the world-class attack of India, saying the batters were facing that level of bowling for the very first time and appeared overwhelmed by the stature of their opponents.

In the Asia Cup clash on Wednesday, the gulf in quality was evident as UAE were bundled out for just 57 runs in 13.1 overs. India made light work of the chase, racing to the target in only 4.3 overs. Left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav proved too crafty for the UAE lineup, returning a decisive four-wicket haul that sealed the one-sided contest.
