'Everyone is excited’: Suryakumar Yadav sets tone for high-voltage Pakistan clash in Asia Cup after UAE thrashing

Skipper Suryakumar Yadav was full of praise for his side after India’s clinical display against UAE, but his focus quickly shifted to the big game ahead – the September 14th showdown against Pakistan.

“We wanted to see how the wicket was playing, and the boys executed perfectly. The attitude and energy on the field were spot on,” Yadav said after the victory. He credited the spinners for making an impact on a slow surface in hot conditions, adding, “Kuldeep, Dube, and Varun did really well.”

The captain also hailed Abhishek, praising him “the world’s No.1 batter for a reason. He sets the tone, whether we’re chasing 50 or 200. Just unbelievable from him.”

With momentum firmly on India’s side, Yadav summed up the mood in the camp: “Everyone is excited for the game against Pakistan.”

SKY clearly trusts both his own game and his team. And with good reason—India have been the standout side in T20Is since the beginning of 2024. “Aggression is always there; we take the field. Without aggression, I don’t think you can play the sport. I’m very excited to take the field from tomorrow,” Suryakumar said during the captains’ meet.
