A video from the United Arab Emirates continued to draw significant attention online after it showed a domestic worker receiving a series of unexpected gifts and financial support from her employer.
The footage, uploaded to Instagram, recorded the moment Melvin Lassooy — founder of The Wolf Pack Group — spoke to his house helpabout the work she carried out for him on a daily basis. In the clip, he told her, “You’ve been the best maid ever,” and thanked her for preparing meals for him “five times a day,” keeping track of his supplements, and ensuring that his routine was managed smoothly.
He then referred to a conversation in which she had mentioned needing a laptop for her studies. Lassooy handed her a new device, prompting her to shout in surprise as she held it tightly. Her reaction remained visibly emotional throughout. A second gift followed, with Lassooy presenting her with a new phone and telling her he wanted to do so “because she’s a wonderful person,” while also commenting on her “amazing energy.” The two shared a brief hug, during which she said, “I don’t like it, I love it,” still clutching the laptop.
Lassooy then raised the subject of her plan to save money for educational expenses. When she told him the amount was about 3,000 dirhams, he offered to pay the full amount so that she would not need to delay her studies or take on the financial burden herself.
Towards the end of the exchange, he spoke about the disparity in their earnings, saying it troubled him that her income was far lower than his “just because she was born in a different country.” He added that he did not consider this “fair” and explained that this was part of the reason he wished to assist her.
The video prompted strong reactions on Instagram, where users described the moment as generous and uplifting. One person wrote, “I wish my bosses were like this, too.” Another commented, “Wow! She deserves it!” A further response read, “The world needs more people like you.”
