Smriti Mandhana revealed her engagement to music composer Palash Muchhal on Thursday in an Instagram reel that included her teammates. The video, which swiftly gained popularity on social media, featured Mandhana along with Jemimah Rodrigues, Shreyanka Patil, Radha Yadav, and Arundhati Reddy. The cricketers executed a well-choreographed routine to the song "Samjho Ho Hi Gaya" from the popular Bollywood movie Lage Raho Munna Bhai.
Mandhana eventually put an end to long-running rumors when she revealed her wedding ring in the last frame.
Although the rumors had been circulating for some time, Muchhal had alluded to the wedding at an event held at the State Press Club in Indore last month. He stated that Mandhana will soon become the "daughter-in-law of Indore", but did not provide any concrete information.
Muchhal in a separate post of his own shared glimpses of the two exchanging rings, which was inside a cricket stadium. "She said yes" the caption read, which also had heart and ring emoticons.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent the couple a lengthy note of congratulations, praising their shared ideals and wishing them a life based on harmony, love, and trust. He predicted a fantastic collaboration between Muchhal's "musical symphony" and Mandhana's "cover drive". Modi confirmed the couple's November 23, 2025, wedding date in the same message.

Only a few days had passed since Mandhana's on-field victory before the off-field festivities. The Indian team, which Mandhana was part of, made history by defeating South Africa in the Women's ODI World Cup final in Navi Mumbai earlier this month. Mandhana amassed 434 runs from nine innings — the most for an Indian batter in a single edition of the Women's World Cup.
