Smriti Mandhana confirms engagement to Palash Muchhal in viral dance video with teammates

Smriti Mandhana has officially confirmed her engagement to singer and filmmaker Palash Muchhal, setting social media abuzz after a playful announcement video with her India teammates went viral. The star batter revealed the news while dancing to the popular Bollywood track Samjho Ho Hi Gaya, effortlessly slipping the announcement into a fun, choreographed moment.

The video features Mandhana grooving with Radha Yadav, Shreyanka Patil, Arundhati Reddy, and Jemimah Rodrigues. What begins as a lighthearted dance routine quickly turns into headline material when Smriti lifts her hand toward the camera, flashing her engagement ring with an easy smile. Fans picked up the hint instantly, flooding the comments with congratulations and excitement.

The confirmation comes just days after Palash Muchhal hinted at the impending engagement during an appearance at the State Press Club in Indore. While he didn’t reveal concrete plans at the time, he teased that Smriti might soon become Indore’s daughter-in-law, a remark that now seems perfectly timed.

All of this arrives on the heels of a career-defining triumph. Mandhana will step into married life as a World Cup winner, a title she earned earlier this month when India defeated South Africa by 52 runs in the final. Her form throughout the tournament was exceptional: 434 runs in nine innings at an average of 54.22. Her century against New Zealand in a must-win match remains one of the standout performances of India’s campaign, especially after three consecutive early losses.

Even after the win, Mandhana struggled to put her emotions into words. She spoke about the overwhelming feeling of lifting a World Cup on home soil, calling the experience surreal and difficult to process. For a player usually composed on the field, it was a rare glimpse into how deeply the achievement moved her.
