India T20I skipper Suryakumar Yadav in his recent appearance at Indian Express' 'Express Adda' spoke about the support he receives from his better half Devisha Shetty. Suryakumar listed the significant contribution his wife has made to his amazing journey, even going so far as to describe her as the best decision he has ever made.
“She has always been behind the scenes," Yadav said. “I have saved my wife’s name on my phone as ‘the best decision of my life’. She has played a big role because we started talking about cricket when we got married," he added.

“She knew I was playing domestic cricket and she was following that. When we were dating, she told me, ‘You are playing at a good level but what’s your goal?’ I said, ‘I have to play for India.’ She asked, ‘How would you be able to play with such habits?’ So that made me think. I started to fix timings and gave up late nights," Yadav revealed.
“She said, ‘You work hard Monday to Friday. Saturday, Sunday you take a break.’ The plan took off from there," he added.
Yadav also spoke about how they first connected, stating Devisha took some time to know him before things clicked. “I still remember I went to meet a friend at Podar College. One of my friends waved to her and I asked my friend to introduce me to her. She didn’t seem impressed," the T20 captain said.
“Then we started talking, taking an interest in each other and then our story started taking a lovely turn," he added.
