Rinku Singh, retained by KKR for Rs 13 crore, buys posh house in Aligarh for...

Rinku Singh was one of the few players retained by defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for the IPL 2025 season and he has bought a luxurious house in Aligarh.

Rinku Singh was recently retained by IPL 2024 champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for a massive price tag of Rs 13 crore. The left-handed batter burst into the limelight after smashing Yash Dayal for five sixes in an over during the IPL 2023 season. His consistent performance got him a chance to play at international level as well. Interestingly, several reports and social media users have claimed that Rinku Singh has bought a luxurious bungalow in Aligarh. As per the reports, the house in The Golden Estate, Ozone City for somewhere around Rs 3.5 crore.

KKR, who are the defending champions, have made major changes from the title winning unit in both the support staff and players department. Gautam Gambhir, who was mentor of the Kolkata Knight Riders along with assistant coaches Abhishek Nayar and Ryan ten Doeschate - are no longer part of the franchise. Interestingly, captain of the side for the past seasons, Shreyas Iyer has also been released. Rinku Singh along with Sunil Narine, Andre Russell, Varun Chakaravarthy, Ramandeep Singh (uncapped) and Harshit Rana (uncapped) are the players retained by the defending champions.

Rinku is the most expensive player retained by KKR for Rs 13 crore followed by Narine, Russell, and Chakaravarthy, who were paid Rs 12 crore each.

Due to the retention rules, KKR now have a purse of Rs 69 crore after spending Rs 57 crore on player retention. The rule mandates that the higher amount between actual spending and the deduction formula is subtracted from a team’s purse.

Kolkata Knight Riders released players: Shreyas Iyer, Nitish Rana, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Phil Salt, Suyash Sharma, Anukul Roy, Venkatesh Iyer, Vaibhav Arora, KS Bharat, Chetan Sakariya, Mitchell Starc, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Sherfane Rutherford, Manish Pandey, Allah Ghazanfar, Dushmantha Chameera, Sakib Hussain, Jason Roy, Gus Atkinson, Mujeeb Ur Rahman.
