It was a revenge match in the IPL 2025 season, and RCB star Virat Kohli was at his aggressive best during the clash against Punjab Kings in their reverse fixture. Royal Challengers Bengaluru had suffered defeat against PBKS in a rain-hit encounter at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Friday (April 18). Seeking redemption at Punjab’s home ground, the RCB players were at their best after captain Rajat Patidar won the toss and elected to bowl first.

Kohli, always a live wire on the field, was at his absolute best. Interestingly, he played a key role in Nehal Wadhera’s dismissal. The PBKS batter, who had guided his side to victory in the previous game against RCB, was run out after a mix-up with Josh Inglis in the middle.

Kohli’s passionate celebration after dismissing Wadhera quickly lit up social media, with the Indian superstar clearly ecstatic to see the back of the dangerous left-hander. The RCB talisman gave Wadhera an intense send-off, although the young batter chose not to react or even glance his way. Meanwhile, Suyash Sharma, the bowler, ran over to embrace Kohli in appreciation of his sharp effort in completing the run-out.

Coming to the result of the clash, star batter Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal smashed fifties helping Royal Challengers Bengaluru crush the Punjab Kings by seven wickets in their Indian Premier League clash on Sunday.

Chasing 158, Kohli (73 not out off 54 balls) and Padikkal (61 off 35 balls) shared a 103-run partnership, which formed the backbone of the massive win achieved with seven balls to spare.

Earlier, veteran spinner Krunal Pandya took two wickets giving away 25 runs and leggie Suyash Sharma also got two scalps giving away just 26 runs. Punjab opener Prabhsimran Singh was the best performer with the bat for the hosts as he scored a 17-ball 33 after being invited to bat.
