Diwali is the time when most people buy sweets for their homes and to gift to loved ones. While it’s not surprising for rates to increase slightly during the festive season, a sweet shop in Jaipur has added a new twist by introducing a gold and silver plated mithai that costs Rs1,10,000 per kg!

Anjali Jain, who is responsible for launching the new line ‘Gold Series by Tyohaar,’ revealed in an interview with Aaj Tak that she wanted to go beyond just sweets and combine both “health and royalty” in her desserts. Hence, its ingredients include pine nuts, saffron, and real gold ash.

Her most expensive dessert, and possibly Jaipur’s priciest sweet, is ‘Swarn Prasadam,’ priced at Rs1.1 lakh. The glazing, that is pure gold ash coating, is what drives its cost, with each piece priced at Rs3,000. Anjali also praised gold ash for its Ayurvedic properties, such as improving immunity. The sweets are luxuriously packed to offer a regal experience.

These include:
Chaandi Bhasm BharatRs1,150 per piece
Swarn Bhasm BharatRs1,950 per piece
24 Carat Kaju KatliRs3,500 per kg
24 Carat Pista LonjeRs7,000 per kg

These reinvented traditional delights contain premium ingredients like cashews, figs, blueberries, salted butter caramel, and more. The store also offers many other sweet treats, including the “Firecracker Platter,” another Diwali hit by Anjali Jain, who is also a Chartered Accountant.

While she believes in constantly innovating recipes that are a sure-shot hit, she also tries to make them as healthy as possible. It is no surprise, then, that this continuous effort is earning her both praise and drawing attention for all the right reasons.
