American singer Mary Millben on Friday ripped into Rahul Gandhi over his recent remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that the Congress leader does not possess the acumen to be the Prime Minister of India.
Millben, who has often lavished praise on Modi's leadership, lashed out at Rahul Gandhi for claiming that the Indian Prime Minister is "frightened" of US President Donald Trump.
"You are wrong, @RahulGandhi. PM @narendramodi is not afraid of President Trump. PM Modi understands the long game and his diplomacy with the U.S. is strategic. Just as @POTUS will always put America’s interests first, so will PM Modi do what is best for India. And I applaud that. That’s what Heads of State do. They do and say what is best for their country," Millben said in a post on X.
She further said that Rahul Gandhi should return to his "I Hate India" tour, referring to his recent "Vote Adhikar Tour" and the Bharat Jodo Yatras, adding that the Congress MP does not have what it takes to be the Prime Minister.
"I don’t expect you to understand this type of leadership because you don’t possess the acumen to be PM of India. Best to return to your “I hate India” tour that has an audience of one - you," she said on X.

The remarks come a day after Rahul Gandhi criticised Modi over Trump's claims that he made India stop purchase of Russian oil during his conversation with the PM.
"PM Modi is frightened of Trump. Allows Trump to decide and announce that India will not buy Russian oil. Keeps sending congratulatory messages despite repeated snubs. Cancelled the Finance Minister's visit to America. Skipped Sharm el-Sheikh. Doesn't contradict him on Operation Sindoor," Gandhi said on X.
Speaking to reporters in the White House, Trump had claimed that his "friend" PM Modi has assured him that India would stop purchasing oil from Russia, a move he described as a big step toward increasing pressure on Moscow over its invasion of Ukraine.
However, the ministry of external affairs later clarified that there was no such phone call that took place between the two leaders.
Later, BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya slammed Rahul Gandhi over his remarks, saying that the US President wouldn't publicly praise Prime Minister Narendra Modi to get his attention if this was the case.
"If Prime Minister Modi were afraid of Donald Trump, then Trump wouldn't be publicly saying 'Modi is a great man' every few days just to get his attention," Malviya posted on X.
Intensifying his attack, the BJP leader claimed that Congress MP Gandhi should look at his party's history that "compromised India's interest to please foreign powers".
"Rahul Gandhi, given your family's record and your party's history, it's no surprise you cannot grasp what 'India First' truly means. You assume, as your family did, that every Prime Minister compromises India's interests to please foreign powers. But wake up. This is Modi's India, not Rajiv's, where India's interests are never up for barter," Malviya added.
He further claimed that it was Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister, who gave up India's recognition of Tibet, which brought the Chinese to India's doorstep. He also criticised former PM Indira Gandhi for "backing out" from Israel's proposal to strike at Pakistan's "fledgling nuclear facilities" in 1983.
