IPL 2025: The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) vs Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) match witnessed plenty of exciting moments but one stood out when Kamindu Mendis took a screamer to dismiss Dewald Brevis. The Proteas batter who made his CSK debut at the MA Chidambaram was on fire until the Sri Lanka cricketer took an outstanding catch to dismiss him.
CSK were put to bat first and they kept on losing wickets in regular intervals. Young Brevis decided to counter-attack after spending sometime in the middle as he smashed some boundaries and sixes to bring his team back into the contest.
It all happened in the 13th over when Harshal Patel was bowling. He delivered a ball right outside of off-stump to which Brevis attacked with a full flow of his attempting a flat six through. Mendis run towards the ball and leapt fully to not only intercept the six but also complete the catch. Watch the video here...

Earlier, Mendis was smashed by Brevis for three sixes in one over but he did not let that run through his head while fielding. Just like everyone else in the stadium, Brevis was stunned, he even checked with officials confirm whether the catch was taken cleanly or not.
The on-field umpire promptly ruled it a clean catch, sparking wild celebrations among the SunRisers fans as Brevis, who seemed poised for a big innings, was sent back to the pavilion.
Coming to the first innings of CSK, SRH pacer Harshal Patel took four wickets as Sunrisers bowled out five-time champions Chennai Super Kings for a modest 154 all out in an IPL match on Friday (April 25) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
