ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Australia's all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has failed to recover from his back injury in time for the Champions Trophy next month. Marsh is now in a race against time for the Indian Premier League 2025 season as well after owing to lower back pain that has "not responded" sufficiently to rehab. Cricket Australia have released a statement for Marsh's injury ruling him out of the ICC event in February-March.
The Champions Trophy 2025 will be held in Pakistan and Dubai from February 19 to March 9. Some other reports also suggest that the Aussie is doubtful for the IPL as well.

"Mitchell Marsh has been ruled out of the upcoming ICC men's Champion’s Trophy with ongoing lower back pain and dysfunction," CA said in a release.
"The National Selection Panel and Australian men's medical team ruled Marsh out of the tournament with the injury which has not responded sufficiently to rehabilitation." "His lower back pain flared in recent weeks leading the NSP to make the longer term decision for Marsh to complete a more extended period of rehabilitation," it added.
Cricket Australia announced that the national selection panel will soon meet to choose a replacement for Marsh, who was included in the 15-member squad alongside fellow all-rounders Aaron Hardie, Glenn Maxwell, and Marcus Stoinis.
"Marsh will now undergo a period of further rest and rehabilitation as part of his return to play plan. The NSP will meet to decide on a replacement for Marsh in due course. The deadline for the final squads for the ICC men's Champion’s Trophy is prior to Wednesday 12 February,” CA said.
LSG's player doubtful
Marsh was picked up by the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) ahead of the IPL 2025 which is set to begin on March 23. LSG bought the 33-year-old for a price tag of Rs 3.4 crore at the recent auction in Saudi Arabia.
