SRH Retention List 2026: Sunrisers Hyderabad revealed their IPL 2026 squad with the goal of improving on their strong recent results while addressing significant areas of inconsistency.
With retentions finalized, SRH has maintained their core, which is still composed of power batter Travis Head, explosive opener Abhishek Sharma, and captain Pat Cummins. The opening duo of Abhishek and Head has been crucial to SRH's comeback, while Cummins' leadership and bowling make him a key component of the team's strategy.
Last year, Abhishek Sharma scored 439 runs in 14 games at an average of 33.77 and a strike rate of 193.39, while Travis Head scored 374 runs in 13 games at a strike rate of 162.61.
For IPL 2026, SRH will have a solid combination of youth, firepower, and experience thanks to the trio of Cummins, Abhishek, and Head.
The team made a significant transaction with the Lucknow Super Giants for seasoned bowler Mohammed Shami.
In the IPL 2025 auction, SRH paid Rs 10 crore for Shami, however the player did not perform well. In his nine games, Shami was only able to take six wickets. Additionally, his economy reached a high of 11.23. Shami played for the Gujarat Titans prior to joining SRH. After taking 28 wickets in 17 games to win the Purple Cap in 2023, he was sidelined by injury the following season.
