Danish Kaneria gives befitting reply after Shahid Afridi blames India for Pahalgam terror attack

Danish Kaneria didn't mince his words while reacting to Shahid Afridi's remark on the horrific Pahalgam terror attack. Kaneria called out Afridi for always aligning with "extremist views", also recalling incidents when the ex-Pakistan captain tried to "persuade him to convert to Islam".

"He has consistently aligned himself with extremist views. In my opinion, he should not be given a platform on Indian television or within the country. Additionally, he tried to persuade me to convert to Islam and declined to share a meal with me, which I found deeply disrespectful," Kaneria wrote on X while sharing a clip of Afridi's interaction with reporters on the recent terror attack, which claimed the lives of at least 26 civilians, mostly tourists.

A video went viral on social media, which shows Afridi expressing his thoughts on the gruesome incident. However, in doing so he accused India of being responsible behind the heinous act.

"The terrorists continued to kill people in Pahalgam for an hour, and not a single Indian soldier showed up. But when they did, they blamed Pakistan. India carries out terrorism itself, kills its people, and then puts the blame on Pakistan," Afridi told local reporters in Pakistan.

"We received so many threats before travelling to India. I was the captain during the 2016 T20 World Cup, and I had no clue whether we would go. Sports diplomacy is also good. They send their kabaddi team here, but they can't send their cricket team. If you want to shut it down, do it completely," he added.

Sourav Ganguly on ties with Pakistan post Pahalgam terror attack

Reacting to the incident, former India captain and ex-BCCI president Sourav Ganguly urged BCCI to end all cricketing ties with Pakistan. The Indian cricketing legend expressed that India should stop engaging with Pakistan even in the ICC and Asian tournaments.

"100 per cent, India should do this (break ties with Pakistan). Strict action should be taken. It has turned out to be a joke that such things are happening every year. Terrorism cannot be tolerated," Ganguly told reporters in Kolkata.
