Every year, lakhs of devotees take part in the Pandharpur Wari Yatra, one of Maharashtra’s most sacred pilgrimages in honour of Lord Vitthal. This divine journey begins from Alandi and Dehu and ends in Pandharpur on Ashadhi Ekadashi (July 6, 2025). Devotees carry Palkhis (palanquins) of saint-poets like Sant Tukaram Maharaj and Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj while chanting abhangas and walking together in devotion.

Pandharpur Wari is a sacred foot pilgrimage where Warkaris (devotees) walk over 250 km, following the Palkhi processions of Sant Tukaram Maharaj and Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj. Along the way, the Warkaris participate in spiritual discourses, devotional singing, and community meals, creating a moving festival of faith and unity.
