Bhasma Aarti Performed at Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain on Hartalika Teej

On the auspicious occasion of Hartalika Teej, September 6, 2024, the revered Bhasma Aarti was performed at the Mahakaleshwar temple in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. Devotees flocked to the ancient shrine, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, to witness this sacred ritual, which takes place daily at the break of dawn. The Bhasma Aarti, a unique offering to Lord Shiva, is one of the most significant spiritual ceremonies, where ash is applied to the deity as a mark of devotion and reverence.

Hartalika Teej is an important festival observed by women, who fast and pray for the well-being of their husbands and the prosperity of their families.
