We have entered the business end of the 2023 ICC ODI World Cup as teams such as New Zealand, Pakistan and Afghanistan look to seal the final semifinal spot ahead of their last group stage fixtures, later this week.
Barring some, all matches in the tournament so far have started at 2 pm in the afternoon and in an example of how the common man is trying to balance both work and watch the match from the stadium, an RPG Group employee was found focussing intensely at work so that he could leave before noon to watch the India-Sri Lanka 2023 ODI World Cup match at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
"Please don't talk to me! I have to finish all my work before 12, and leave for India vs Sri Lanka at noon sharp. T&C," a note, stuck behind the employee's chair, read.
The man's request was shared on X (formerly Twitter) by RPG Group Chairman Harsh Goenka.

Fast bowler Mohammed Shami picked up five wickets and overtook Zaheer Khan and Javagal Srinath for the most wickets taken by an Indian pacer at an ODI World Cup. There is no clarity yet as to which team India will face in the semifinals, next week.
