A horrifying scene unfolded early Sunday morning near the Las Vegas strip in the US as a man was viciously attacked and killed at a bus stop, with the assailant reportedly consuming parts of the victim's face claiming he was “possessed”. The incident, which occurred around 5 am on Las Vegas Boulevard, has stunned authorities and residents alike, marking a disturbing escalation of violence within the city.
According to arrest documents obtained by 8NewsNow, the Las Vegas police department responded to a report of an altercation where a man was seen tackling another to the ground. Soon after, a witness alerted authorities of a horrifying sight at a nearby bus stop: a man atop another, "eating" the victim's face.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered 29-year-old Colin Czech kneeling beside the victim, with “biological matter in his hair, mouth and on his clothing,” as detailed in the documents.
The victim, later identified as Kenneth Brown, was rushed to a local hospital but died of his injuries. Reports indicate that Brown suffered severe mutilation, with missing body parts including an eye and an ear, along with a significant head wound. Czech, who is reportedly homeless, exhibited signs of disorientation and was barely conscious when taken into police custody.
During interrogation, Czech claimed self-defense, asserting that he was attacked by the victim. He confessed to resorting to cannibalistic behaviour, admitting to using his teeth to consume parts of the victim's eyeballs and ears.
Documents state that Czech had been awake for five consecutive days, claiming he had been "possessed".
Czech now faces charges of murder, though he remains hospitalised and was unable to attend his initial court appearance as scheduled on Monday. His next hearing is set for Wednesday at Las Vegas Justice Court, where further details of this chilling case are expected to emerge.
