IRCTC website down: users flood X with complaints over ticket bookings

The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) faced technical glitches today, causing a temporary halt to its e-ticket services. The disruption left passengers stranded and frustrated as they took to Twitter to voice their concerns.

The official statement from IRCTC mentioned that the e-ticketing services were temporarily unavailable due to maintenance activity. The statement provided a helpline number and email address for passengers to reach out for cancellations or file TDR.

Passengers, however, expressed their inconvenience, citing issues ranging from payment failures to difficulties in accessing the Tatkal window. One Twitter user detailed, "Page is facing technical issues since 10 am. 1. Not able to pay 2. Payment dropped 3. After payment deducted, IRCTC redirects, but shows error."

Another user raised concerns about the closure of the site during the maintenance window, stating, "The site remains closed from 11:30 pm to 12:30 am. It is a matter of concern that the IRCTC site is closed after daily maintenance. But the point is why mentioning the same so late."

Passenger appeals for assistance flooded Twitter, with one user urgently tweeting, "Dear @RailMinIndia, please solve my problem. I have to cancel my ticket, and IRCTC is not responding. My train is from 7 PM today."

The frustration reached a peak with a user humorously suggesting, "There's no doubt that @IRCTCofficial website is just a stress test. A way to see how much frustration we can handle. Don’t look for a man who earns 20LPA. Look for a man who can do Tatkal ticket booking on IRCTC in one go."

This is how govt. app works which is promotes online transactions. Try to book tatkal ticket and their app sucks when there 11 Am in the clock.
