Mohak Nahta, who had pledged free visas for all Indians on Chopra's gold medal win, took to LinkedIn to reaffirm his commitment.

Mohak Nahta, CEO of the US-based visa startup Atlys, has confirmed he will honour his promise of providing free visas to all Indians, despite javelin star Neeraj Chopra winning silver rather than gold at the Paris Olympics.

Nahta, who had pledged free visas for all Indians on Chopra's gold medal win, took to LinkedIn to reaffirm his commitment. Chopra’s silver medal in the men’s javelin throw was secured with a best throw of 89.45 metres. The gold was claimed by Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem, who set an Olympic record with a throw of 92.97 metres.

In his LinkedIn post, Nahta wrote, “It might not be the colour of the medal but our spirit that shines. I’m going ahead with our original offer of free visas for all Indians today. People who commented with emails on my earlier posts will receive instructions from Atlys on how to redeem this offer shortly. Proudly Indian, Mohak.”

Initially, Nahta had promised free visas if Chopra wins gold at the Olympics. "I will personally send a free visa to everyone if Neeraj Chopra wins a gold at the Olympics. Let’s go," he wrote on LinkedIn.

Several LinkedIn users appreciated Nahta's gesture even after Chopra's silver medal win and shared screenshots of emails from Atlys as proof of the CEO's promise.

"Wow, Mohak Nahta CEO of Atlys you truly delivered on your promise of a free visa-thanks for keeping your word! Now if only flights weren't so pricey, we'd be off on our next adventure! A big congratulations to Neeraj Chopra for his Silver win," a user wrote.

Another user commented, "A true leader is defined by their actions, not just their words. Even when the outcome didn't match the expectation, the CEO of Atlys kept his promise, offering free visas to those who participated. It's this kind of integrity and commitment that sets him apart. Honoring his word, he proves that trust and leadership go hand in hand."

Meanwhile, some users also reported issues with receiving the promised free visa offer. One user noted, “Thank you for following through on your promise Mohak Nahta. However, I have not received any email from Atlys. Upon logging in, I noticed that everything appears to be the same as usual, including the pricing.”

Another remarked, “Dear Mohak Nahta - Thank you for keeping the promise. I got the mail, but upon logging in, can't see any visa free, it’s all with a $ value.”
