In an effort to better understand the day-to-day challenges faced by delivery personnel, Deepinder Goyal, co-founder and CEO of Zomato, recently took on the role of a delivery partner for his company. Accompanied by his wife, Gia Goyal (formerly Grecia Munoz), the couple ventured out on bikes to deliver food orders around Gurgaon. Goyal shared the experience on Instagram, posting a series of photos that documented their time on the job.
“Went out to deliver orders a couple of days ago, teaming up with,” Goyal captioned the post, tagging his wife. The images featured the couple navigating the streets, checking a device to locate addresses and interacting with customers upon delivery. Goyal’s initiative sparked a wave of reactions online, with some praising his approach while others questioned its intent.
The post went viral with a flurry of reactions from social media users. One Instagram user commented, “We were super stoked to see you at the Alamode office. Huge respect for your work and the entrepreneur you are!” Another remarked, “Hope you'll be able to see the pain of the delivery persons and would resolve their problems and make their lives easier." Meanwhile, others saw it as a strategic move, with one user calling it “nice marketing.”

Meanwhile, Goyal co-founded Zomato in 2008 and his current net worth is estimated at $1.7 billion, according to Forbes. Earlier this year, he married Gia Goyal, a former Mexican model.
