We all remember our first pay cheque and our very first job. Well, majority of us can never forget about it. And guess what? Celebrated chef Vikas Khanna also shares the same emotion. So, he shared a video of meeting his first employer in New York and it has gone viral online. It was shared on Twitter and it is too good to miss.
Khanna mentioned that he has been following a ritual for the past 23 years while sharing the video. He wrote that whenever he creates something significant, he takes his first employer’s blessings. The 51-year-old chef was meeting with an elderly woman named Pushpa Sabharwal, who had not only given him his first job but also helped him with his fees at New York University, where he studied decades ago.
At that time, Khanna used to do private cooking and clean people’s apartments in New York and New Jersey. Khanna showed Sabharwal the first look of his debut novel ‘Imaginary Rain’, that he is writing as a tribute to his grandmother. Interestingly, the novel is being adapted into a feature film starring Shabana Azmi as well.
“You really reached the skies. You’ve really done very well. I am so proud of you. And I am proud of the fact that you call me your mother in New York,” Sabharwal can be heard saying in the video.
