As India's festive season commenced with Raksha Bandhan, quick commerce platforms Blinkit and Swiggy Instamart reported record-breaking sales, highlighting a growing reliance on these services for last-minute festival shopping. The two companies surpassed their 2023 performance, setting new benchmarks in orders and customer engagement.

He further disclosed that Blinkit achieved its highest-ever orders per minute (OPM), gross merchandise value (GMV), and chocolate sales.
The platform recorded a peak of 693 rakhis sold per minute, showcasing the strong demand for its services during the festival. Additionally, Dhindsa revealed that Blinkit had expanded its operations internationally for Raksha Bandhan, accepting orders from six countries, including the USA, Canada, and Germany.

Swiggy Instamart also reported a significant surge in sales during the festival. Co-founder Phani Kishan shared that Raksha Bandhan saw a higher OPM than the platform's previous peak, which had already set a new record. He noted, “We expect to sell as many rakhis today as we have sold all year, and that’s already five times more than last year.” Kishan had previously mentioned that Swiggy Instamart had achieved a fivefold increase in rakhi sales compared to the previous year, even before the festival day had arrived.
Kishan also revealed that a man in Mumbai showered his sister with gifts worth Rs 11,000 as well and that was the highest spend they had seen so far.
