A 40-year-old man in Chhattisgarh suffered a brain haemorrhage after listening to loud music played by a DJ. The incident left doctors puzzled as the man had no history of high pressure, other illnesses, or even any physical injury, the Times of India reported. The incident happened in Surguja division of Balrampur district.

The incident came to light after the man, Sanjay Jaiswal, was engaged in loading and unloading equipment at an event where a DJ was playing music when he experienced dizziness. He left for home soon after but started vomiting and complained of acute headache. He was taken to Ambikapur Government Medical College where a CT scan revealed a blood clot in his brain due to a ruptured blood vessel. According to Dr Shailendra Gupta, associate professor at the ENT department of the hospital, blood clots like this occurs in cases of high blood pressure, accidents, or other injuries, while Jaiswal was healthy, well-built, and did not have any history of high blood pressure.

"Initially, the patient was reluctant to disclose the truth, possibly due to his association with the DJ," the doctor told Times of India. "He literally wept when we insisted he tell the truth and then he revealed that he was engaged in loading and unloading equipment when the DJ was playing loudly. Afterward, he felt dizzy and his condition worsened during the night."

Dr Gupta added that there was a possibility of a brain haemorrhage due to the loud sound as not everyone has a strong occipital region at the back of their heads and the DJ's loud sound affected this region of the patient's brain, as was revealed by the CT scan.
